You can thank TJ owners for the JK you are driving now.
As you witnessed, a stock TJ is very low, and comes standard with very small road oriented tyres.
The vehicle that you purchased comes from the factory with much improved ground clearance, longer control arms, longer travel suspension and much larger wheels/tyres..
The reason that the JK is what it is, came from Chrysler listening to TJ owners and watching what people were doing to make the TJ a better offroad vehicle. In fact the JK has a mild high hood/guard lift as first pioneered right here in Australia on a TJ.
Yes, I know your JK is very impressive out of the box, and I've seen your driving skills improve (they had to).
But, here's the deal.
If a TJ was stock other than being lifted to the same height and tyre size as the JK, I know which one I'd put my money on.
