Default WK2 Diesel Oil

I have an email from NULON stating that their 5w-30 diesel synthetic meets and exceeds the Chrysler standard MS-11106, if you need confirmation you can email technical@nulon.com.au

"Meets and exceeds" is different from "approved".

Granted - there are likely a number of oils that will do the job.

Personally I made the decision early on only to use only oil that complies with the specification in every respect.

There is some big differences out there

I personally use Mann hummel for everything if I cant get Mann hummel I use Bosch premium
I buy them from the USA in bulk so always have them in stock the Mann Hummel I bought from Rock-auto 2 years ago where on special 9$ each so I bought a box of 12
That was when the dollar was stronger than the US dollar bought boxes of cabin filters as well with air filters I always get a K&N no need to replace them ever again

As for oil I use mineral 15W40 in my WH buy it in 20 litre drums as the WH takes ten litres oil at a change when I was using the recommended synthetic 5W30 I was using a litre every 2000k,s so at 20,000 service interval it had already had half the oil changed by top-ups since going to mineral does not use a drop already done 50.000 on the mineral my factory trained independent Jeep mechanic says mine is the best one he has seen
OH and one of the side effects of the mineral oil the engine is quieter
I also do a lot of highway k,s if I was doing round town k,s and short trips I probably would go back to a synthetic probably a 10W40
I also live in Queensland where it does not get cold even in winter

I intend to do a million with it being a Mercedes engine shouldn't be all that hard
I have had Merc engines with 750,000 on the clock in the past running perfectly as for the VM motori engines I have no idea only time will tell

I also have a provent fitted and a green diesel tune switching of the EGR its now got 300,000 k,s on the clock motor is stronger than ever am currently waiting for parts for my transfer case it was giving me service 4WD for a year

All the oil manufacturer websites said to use ATF fluid which thanks to this website we now know is wrong using Mobil 444 when its fixed
what filter numbers are they?
cheers

All oils ant oils.!!
A few months ago I had a long talk to a Penrite technical rep. re oils for my 2010 GC diesel.I told him that the N245 transfer boxes should not have ATF in them as it will destroy them.He said all of the oil companies he knew of said ATF ok .He got back to me later and said I was right, no ATF in these transfer cases.(He had also worked for Mobil and knew Mobil 424 well.)Have penrite changed their catalogues ,etc NO.If you have a transfer case failure using ATF I would be sending the bill to the oil co.!!He also told me most oil companies in Aus use a central database for getting info on what goes into a vehicle. This is not the first over the years I have caught out oil companies advising wrong products. Also be aware it costs money for oil companies to say they are approved by auto manufactures. A bit like getting the heart tick on your food product.

Sorry guys was on Tapatalk on my android phone messages a bit hard to understand

For the mercedes eninens IE OM642
Fuel is A WK 820/1
Oil is a HU 821X
Cabin CUK 3137

Not sure with the VM engines shouldn't be to hard to figure out

If you have any original dealer invoices they usually have part numbers next to the parts used just cross-reference it with a Mann Hummel or a Bosch premium Purolater is also a great filter
