After the recent purchase of my new JK 2door, I'm in the market for a bullbar as my previous KJ cherokee was written off after coming out 2nd best with an encounter with a big Red Roo. There are lots of pesky animals out Cobar way. At least I was able to finally get what I always wanted, a Wrangler.

Anyway, I was searching Ebay for Jeep Bullbars and this came up. Looks like Ironman is going to release a JK Front Bar in early 2012. Price looks competitive and it looks ok... Anybody know anything about these bars??

I know it looks rubbish. Big and bulky doesn't suit the wrangler. But looks are subjective. If the quality is ok, get the one that looks best to you.

For similar coin I would, and did get the DBOR. If you want the arb, its not excessively more than the untried iron man either.

Wow a chinese copy of an ARB product!! That's new!!! All they need is to stick on some ARB stickers and the cloning will be complete.

The ARB bar is pretty tough - I wouldn't buy Ironman out of principle but then I also don't believe ARB front bars are too badly priced at all. Trouble with a JK is adding 40+ kg of steel off the front end doesn't really do wonders for the suspension and steering (not to mention handling).

Steel front bar on a JK (other than the Mopar product) pretty much requires a suspension upgrade (firmer springs). Spacers will even out the ride height but it'll still be a bit too soft in the front end.

I find ironman very dodgy, and having seen their bar work in person I would never get anything from them. They are always a poor copy of arb and much weaker.

If you like that look get arb, it looks the same and will be a much better bar. But then again everybody and their dog has an arb bar, why not be a little different and get something else.

Yeah think i'd be getting the ARB if you want that look, otherwise there's a couple of aussie variants or a million choices from the US. It all comes down to pers taste.
