Well a bit of an update.

Seem that the excessive amount of corrugations broke a wire to the Boost solenoid.
Jeep first came out and quoted me on a whole new turbo setup as you cant by the solenoid by itself $8900, to this i told them to keep looking for the problem.

All ended up well at $292.

We then continued our trip, crossed the Simpson desert and we are now in Brisvagas.

A REALLY BIG THANKKS to NTRubicon for the help whilst in Alice.

The car has been heating up over normal since being at Jeep but i think others might have the same problem, has only got to 3/4 on the heat gauge. Hope its not to bad.

Pete

Unbelievable. I wonder if you had agreed to the whole turbo if they would have found the broken wire while replacing it and said anything or just gave you the bill

Yeh we wondered how many people who what have just said yeh replace it!!!

One of the worst things i found was when i was driving out of Alice springs i could hear the turbo spooling really loudly, i didnt think to much of it until i was on the dirt down near Finke, so i pulled up and had a look..... they had not even put the Co2 sensor back into the dump pipe. I was already 3 hrs away and out of reception so i didnt bother to call up. But i think that is absolute shit house workmanship considering the workshop foreman was personally supervising the job. So i now have a bit of a tarnished view on Jeep servicing.

Jeep is terrible
Can source turbos for near 2grand.
Do yourself a favour and grab a scan guage so you can monitor acctual engine conditions.
You will be shocked to see how much they vary, I don't trust the standard guage at all.
Also jump on the jk crd owners page on fb.
Lots of diesel specific info.

Give that olive jk owner an uppercut!
