Default How far is too far

Replaced the Battery, as AGM's are renown for hiccupping before they die, and on a couple of occasions over the months the Jeep has coughed / stuttered on start up, so its been 9 years for our MY14, heavy little bugga but easy to manage in /out with the seat unbolted

That's quite an innings. Mine lasted 10 years as well (2011 MY12 - original battery replaced in December). Had no issues with it at all - only replaced as preventative maintenance as it was down to about 500CCA's.

(Only) got 5.5 years out of my 2015 - hadn't completely gone but, as you said Mudguard, had some stutters and long cranks on cold mornings and when it hadn't been driven for a week or so.

My original also showed signs at 5.5 years, although it was still functioning. No start up probs but a few electrical funnies (a window would open, wipers would operate by magic). When that stuff happens it's time to get rid. 10 yrs is exceptional.

Wow, mines a 2017 with original battery and I was starting to get worried! Hadn't thought about them lasting that long. Previous 2010 Wrangler went through 3 in the 5 years I owned it (first 2 under warranty), then a 2015 KL Cherokee Trailhawk also went through 3 in the 5 years, again 2 of them under warranty.

Did the Wrangler and Cherokee have an AGM? Around 4 years is the absolute minimum I've seen people getting out of the AGMs in the GC (unless another issue such as alternator of course), with 5-6 seemingly typically being when it starts showing signs it's on the way out.
