I just came back from a trip to the Flinders Ranges from Melbourne. I went from Broken Hill to Melbourne on one Tank (860km's) using 77.4 litres. I Thought that wasn't to bad seeing most of it was in 37 degree's with Aircon blasting. I'm driving an 05 CRD with 235/85 Cooper STT's.

I have 242 full-time. I use 2WD for town. 4WD for sand and mud.
If the switch to full time, the cost will be more or equally?
if the sands of course more, and if 4wd on the road, there will be more and how?
I have the problem of overdose, so the questions.

I'm a bit disappointed with the overall fuel economy of my KJ (But that is all I'm disaapointed in).
around town 17.3/100-18.3/100
Towing a 600kg van 20-21/100
4wd low range 24-26/100
highway 13-14/100 @ 100-110kph

2" lift, Roof bars, Nudge bar, Navara spots, 245/70 AT's (16K old), K&N air filter.

Given that the majority of driving is around town I would love to improve economy without changing to a CRD............anyone got any ideas ???????

I've just worked the figures on the first tankfull in my new CRD & it returned 10.2L/100 all city with the wife driving (usually a lot heavier than me). Will be heading down south in a couple of weeks towing an 800 kg caravan so will post the results when I get back.

Cheers

Bri
