They're pretty pimp but in my experience the break easy... (bought two, broken two...)... Both cases the head snapped off.

The ones in Canada have a lifetime guarantee (plain stainless colour) from memory and were around $40. Sing out if you want the ebay link.

The chap found a bolt down the bottom literally hanging off & re-tightened. He also grabbed the long steering column/shaft thingie pushing it back & forward and demonstrated there was a LOT of movement. (sorry to be so vague, I forgot the bits' names).
Di, You don't need a RTC steering dampener, it only masks the problem... try getting new tie rod ends fitted, that should do it! Worked for me after 31's!!

Cheers Ben, I had a vague idea it may be something like that. Will get the experts to run an eye over the front end on the w/end.

It's become very apparent from the general concensus that I don't "need" the steering dampner, but I read up all the sales pitch bumph about "smoother ride, on/off road, great in sand" and the bower bird in me just couldn't help myself when this one, the Rolls Royce of dampners, came up cheap ... reminds me I haven't paid him for it yet lol. There's a rub gouge at one end and a slight angle on the bit that juts out at the other end, so we're going to see if it's still 100% ... for all I know, the slight angle may be the design of the thing.
