A Jeep bike, what a frightening thought - I can see it now, direct from the dealership:
*New brake pads - $400 (& that's V-brakes!)
*Original handlebar grips - $250
*New tubes - $75 - - each
I think I'll stick with those that "Specialised" with bikes.

i'll be honest i don't know a great deal but the ali frame is the only way to go as one person said they are much lighter for the long walk home as i found out last week after having a stack on mine
was damn glad mine was not an old steel frame

At work we've got the GT avalanche 2.0 for $859 which we'd discount down to pretty close to $800 for cash. They're a great bike, i'm considering getting one myself. They're the cheapest bike on the market with HYDRAULIC disk brakes and they're a very nice feeling brake, made by tektro. 24speed, SRAM gearing (better feeling than shimano), triple triangle frame (very stiff and light), good rims etc etc etc.
You'll probably find that they've got better hubs and the like than giants
I wouldn't go past them!!
