For now just the stock paper jobbie, I have a donaldson on its way. Check out GoJeeps writeup on his page, under hi-flow air filter.
My experience of these comes from mining, donaldsons are run on everything.

As an alternative, I was looking at the Green Filter Twister system (which is with the cotton filter).

Check out this thread about CRD filters. A number of KJ owners have bought these Amsoil filters which seem pretty good. Don't know if they are available for Tj's or JK's with petrol motors.

Just bought a Fram air filter for my TJ at Walmart in Houston. I think it was around $8. Maybe I should fill my suitcase next time.

I used to run a Donaldson on a Manx dune buggy I'd built.
The thing was incredible, the amount of dust and debris that got caught in the cyclone bowl was amazing, before it even hit the massive cylindrical filter.
Have also seen them fitted with an air ram head which would improve the cold air side of things.

I have always had K&N filter in my TJ's c/w a snorkel and keep the filter very well oiled, I also kept a filter sock (TJM) in my glove box incase of real dust trips

One trip to Wombat State forest collected about 1" of dust in the sock, fuel comsumption was heavier but the air ram tube to the throttle body was clean.

My daughter was on the same trip with a snorkel & her TJ paper filter was stuffed
