Default UPDATE - Slight Delay

Hi Folks,

I am afraid this will have to go on hold for a couple of weeks.

The gauge I was send has a few bugs and is'nt functioning quite the way it should.

It is telling me coolant and intake air temps but no trans temp - I am sending it back to the states for a reflash.

by the way:
On the way to work this morning:
Coolant temp avg around 80degrees
Intake Air Temp average around 70degrees.

What are the details for this Matt? Was thinking of adding one to my 07 JK before my trip, but had no inkling of this 'quiet recall'

I contacted Darwin Jeep a few weeks ago as well as Jeep Customer Support and both of them said there was no recall flagged against my CRD Auto.

Default To Clarify the transmission cooler situation with jeep

Basically there is no recall in aus.

Jeeps official position however is that from now on "any" jeep getting a towbar fitted will get a transmission cooler.

So They are going to look into whether or not they can fit one for me under warrenty since I already have the towbar.

They are also fitting an updated diesel filler valve, and also updated front end bits consisting of beafier Tie-Rod and new ball joints.

Finally found a good Dealer...

Hi Zerosecta
good luck with the fitting of the cooler. at albion jeep in brissy the service manager has told me they are not into modifications so they won't look at fitting one.
he went to a service manager seminar down south last week and said none off the people he spoke to had fitted a cooler to a crd and no one knew where to put one.
basically no help at all. hope you have better luck.

cheers

steve

until they figure out where to put it, i doubt very highly any CRD's wil get it, it's more likely that from now on they will install the Hot Oil warning to cover their asses

CORRECT - They just got back to me and confirmed that this only relates to Petrol Vehicles and that Diesels should be OK.

I have got this in writing and even colsulted with my lawer and as far as hes concerned if i have any issues towing my 1+ton Jayco Camper Trailer in May while on holiday I will have a case against Crysler and be looking for compensation to that effect.

So with any luck, I wont have any issues. Although I may fit one anyway, just not sure yet
