Default Brake Controller GC MY12 Laredo

Hi All, hoping someone can help
I have a GC MY12 Laredo purchased in Australia Sydney. Im connecting a Redcar Tow Pro.

Q1 is there a 4pin prewired brake controller connector somewhere under the dash.
Q2 if not do i run a Blue braking wire to the 7pin trailer harness at the tow bar
Q3 where do i pick up the brake input signal
Q4 Do i take the power direct from the battery terminal & through a 20a circuit breaker(concerned power is not going via ignition therefore power constantly feeding Redarc braking controller.

Thanks paul

Hi Paul,

Well as far as know there is no pre wiring in the export models,
Yes the Blue wire goes straight to your 7 pin trailer plug at the tow bar,
As for the brake signal, I mounted the main unit just behind the rear seat in the back. I changed the network cable to the remote head to a 2.5 meter one(this is a normal computer network cable and you can go upto 5m its says in the instructions). I picked up the brake signal from the brake light wire (the same one that was used for the trailer).
And yes I powered it directly from my battery via a 20amp circuit breaker.
To do the install i removed the boot liner and some of the dash to get it where i wanted it, it was a bit tricky mounting the remote head as there are ridges behind the bit of dash and I had to trim some plastic shielding away to accommodate the length of the remote head.
Just one more note, if you mount your remote head in a similar place and remove the light switch cluster and the remote fuel tank door connectors, take the fuse out for the remote fuel door or you will blow it.

Thanks Paul Tops

i considered putting it there but i was wary of the airbag.

i put the remote in front of the Terrain module LHS behind cup holder. Actual controller was mounted under cubby in front of gear stick.
All good, just have to find that bloody brake signal wire on the brake pedal. No2 i believe, I'm off to splice it now.
Thanks
