Hi everybody, been hanging around here awhile just checkin you all out, but seriously. Used to be into serious 4wd a long while ago (FJ 40 with 350 4 spd Diff under conversion) all done by myself at 21 yrs old. Due to a minor setback= 20 + years of life and marriage I have been absent from the life for awhile, MIGHT AS WELL DECLARE THIS A LONG POST NOW. In between have owned a JLX Vitara soft top that we used to Sand Drive a bit as well as my better halfs daily driver. GETTING TO THE GOOD BIT NOW. We are now looking to get back in to 4WD mainly for the camping bit (dont see much hardcore offroad happening) and would be interested in your feedback. Now I am still considering which way to go, 2 options ..... 1. XJ Cherokee Limited, Lift kit,tyres,diff locks,Front bar and Winch..Done OR 2. KK Cherokee Limited, Lift kit, tyres, Diff locks eventually?.Front bar and winch. OK now the difference in choices also includes the KK option replacing my wifes daily driver (03 Astra CDX) or the XJ being a TRIP VEHICLE only,which means extra vehicle rego, mechanical, reliability etc. Now if we ended up with KK we obviously would be prepared not to punt it as hard as XJ. What do you guys think? ...P.S. I have a background in metal fab and have Mig,Tig ,Plasma,4 ft Pan Brake (3mm steel capability) at home......All opinions apreciated...Cheers....Michael..
