Blasted the xj up the beach for a fish this morn. Caught nothin. But no better feeling than cruisin on the sand watching the sunrise on a deserted coastline at 5am in the ol girl.

Yep, the XJ's have a old style injector which shoots fuel in a hard stream, like a water pistol. Where as the more modern Ford ones make a softer mist and they're for a 4.0 engine and have the same plugs so its easy to slap a new set on or second hand. This fuel atomisation is better so less fuel is required for the stroke for the required a/f mixture.

Ill keep an eye on my fuel economy each time I fill up to check for how much improvement. My last fill with the originals was 18ltrs/100ks So it prompted me to pull the injectors out to firstly check if they we're leaking and to give them a few squirts to see if there was any weak ones in the bunch, clean check o rings. oh also i had a really low idle but that turned out to be my tachometer playing up. Because I put a tachometer on the pulley and it said i had a healthy idle but the instrument tachometer said i was 0-200...anyway.

Instantly noticed the cars much smoother with the new injectors
