Default Wh new radio install

Greetings all,
I know that there are many threads regarding aftermarket head unit installations but seem quite old.

My problem is this.
The factory radio in the WH ceased some time ago to want to have anything to do with the AM band. Alas this is where my favourite listening is, in the form of ABC and their AFL broadcasts. So I have been suffering withdrawal symptoms and suffering when travelling having to listen to the wife's cd collection.

I have purchased the Kenwood BT600U head unit so we can now have Bluetooth and use the mobiles if necessary without incurring the wrath of Mr Plod.

I have purchased the Aerpro adapter harness to go from Kenwood to Jeep, but there is still an issue with getting the factory amp to talk to the speakers.
I'm not fussed about the steering controls for volume etc. as I haven't used them.

I have taken switched power from the cigarette lighter (a useless accessory for non-smokers - but handy for this) and the unit lights up BUT no sound.

I've trawled most of the Jeep forums regarding aftermarket head unit installations and YouTube videos on the subject.
Some say that the Blue and White wire coming from the back of the head unit needs provide power to the factory amp.
Great, but how the heck do you do it??

I've found the amp (got to love the designers who put the amp back there instead of somewhere in the dash!!) but again I cannot figure out which of the wires used to carry the power from the old radio.
Surely the power from the previous radio was carried from somewhere behind the radio??

I'm reasonable at this type of thing having installed a new radio into my son's Vitata a few years back and played around with electronics at school when Adam was a lad. The Vitara install was a simple matter of matching colour for colour and success.
The Jeep has beat me and I am about to raise the white flag.

Can anyone offer any advice or the phone number of a car radio installer in the Perth region??

As Clarky said, the most reliable adapter harness is the Metra CHTO-01. Other brands and you will risk having your EVIC to turn to German with no reversal.

just want to know how you went with this?

We are upgrading the Head unit in The WH, its a Laredo with out any of the steering wheel control or speaker amp, would this wiring kit be suitable or is there another alternative? The only is we have is there is no accessory power. could i just take acc power from the cig lighter like you had done or do you need the can wiring for other inputs?
