i used to have a tick similar to what your describing i used the oil flush and a bit of the AW10 as Clarky suggested from Cost Effective Maintenance i also use their CRD fuel enhancer. and now dont have any issues. they are not really cheap but all their stuff seems to work treat. i use all these on a regular basis now for my other car aswell.

I have ordered some Aw10 Antiwear hasn't arrived yet.

I took off the serpentine belt off the other day as the TSB suggest. The noise didnt go away so i dont think its the bottom end.

I have found a TSB from Mercedes Benz for the same problem up untill 2013, but Jeeps TSB for the same problem only applies 2008.

I will try the Aw10 see how it goes.
Its very annoying to say the deisel engine has only 130k
Has anyone replaced or rebuilt the engines in the WH grand wondering how much it would cost or even worth it.

No it didnt do anything that i could tell.
Still makes a tapping/knocking sound when warm all good when cold oil

Think my problem is big end shells are going.
When i drop the oil again will get the oil tested for copper and other metals in the oil

I had a tapping / rattle noise.....thought it was either the timing chain or tensioner.

Finally gave up looking myself & took it to Mercedes Sprinter specialist shop to check it out & fix a small oil leak at same time.

Turned out to be one of the pulleys!
New belt & pulley => all good
