I have never done it! Best talk to a good locksmith. The key that fits your new barrel probably cant be reprogrammed. The locksmith will need to clone your old key to a new blank & then cut to suit the new barrel. That way you are not trying to change the electronics. When you start changing modules, you risk opening a can of worms & so having all sorts of problems. It should not be very expensive to do the key.

It is the diesel one, so maybe it was for the spares. I did check that they hadn't nicked my nice new shiny injector 1 😀. The spares I have lined up are apparently from a running car so hopefully I wouldn't get any problems if that's what I end up doing. I will contact a locksmith to see what they think.
