I got the power trough to the inside the same way in my MY08. Coat hanger to push through the foam. I ran both positive and negative back as I mounted the radio in the gap between the sun visors in the middle. No good earth on the windscreen.

Thats all changed now as I have a duel system in the back of the jeep.

In the 2012 JK there is a very convenient 1" hole, with a soft foam grommet just above the steering column & just right of the brake booster. SO EASY!, I ran about 3 conduits through it. There is two ways I recommend adding accessories
If you have only 1-3, connect directly to the Positive on Battery else run a fat amp cable to a sealed fuse box (under the hood) from battery then to each accessories inside the cab (my preferred option)

Any tips on how to get the dash apart to get the cables through? I just pulled it apart so that the stereo was accessible, but couldn't get the rest apart to get to the grommet hole areas :/

*edit* Massive facepalm moment, actually went through the project-jk writeup on this (i.e. RTFM) and saw what was meant by the side panel - will have another crack at this today after picking people up from the airport and a few other odds and sods that need doing...
