Default KJ with 32"

Finally, it's done. Got the 32's onto the KJ. Went camping at King River on the weekend (with about 1,000,000 other people) and tested them out on a few tracks. Sure it rubs, but not as bad as athought it would and nothing a BIG hammer and heatgun wont fix.

Here is 1 pic plus I'll put a link to a couple of others from the weekend.

Enough flex to get through. Not as much as I'd like.

Oh Yea! I now have 11.5" of clearance to the cross-member at back of engine. Not sure on total lift butat least 3" + 1.5" gained with tyres.

If anyone with a standard KJ could measure to the front cross-member and maybe to bottom of rear diff I'd love to hear from you.

Dear Walker , Pics look great well done. I wanna do the same to mine but was told by a guy at Jeep australia that if I do a suspension lift & fit 32's I'll void the warranty. Also how'd you go with insurance. I ran outside my office & measured my KJ & the the height to the cross member under the engine is 185mm. The rear is 195mm to the underside of the diff.

cheers Ian

Ok, thanks IGN. As a comparison I have 295mm at front cross-member and 240mm to bottom of rear dif.

Insurance is fine, I pay a bit more but are allowed a couple of mods. Told them it was lifted, just not how high.

It will only void warranty if Jeep can prove that it was the modification that caused a part to fail, which is often hard to prove. I broke a front drive shaft at the CV a month ago and it was fixed under warranty. The dealer said the lift will cause the CV to wear a bit quicker but it wont cause it to break and Jeep would never be able to prove that it did.
The tyre might be a problem with warranty as according to the "letter of the law" they would be illegal but I only put them on when going 4WD'ing otherwise I run the standard tyres.
