Default Lift is finally done

Finally got around to installing the Daystar lift into the KJ last week.

What a freak'n pain in the arz it was.

The instructions say approx 4hrs. Was more like two 2.5 days (taking sleep into account).

If anyone ever thinks they'll do this themselves, don't. Get a shop to do it.

Have not got any pics of it yet but I'll get some online soon.

Would post measurements, but they are on the workbench among all the empty bevvie holders

Very nice. So now you are known as KJ Brad?

Was it the 2.5" Daystar & what gave you the most troubel with lift?
I installed the RRO combo lift a couple of months ago & although it was a pain we had it done in about 4-5 hours. We managed to remove the front struts without taking the lower control arm off the chasis frame which saved a lot of time.

Love to see some measurements for comparison. I have doubled up with the ARB lift and the RRO lift.

What else do you have planned?

She's looking good mate!

So are you going to do a writeup or is it a case of CRS?

Thanx mate, more a case of CBFBRK (it has the word bothered in it ) but I will.

Just spent the last two hours reprogramming the TV etc. Freak'n kids.

Yep the Daystar.

Had troubles with the front spring compression (we actually bent a set of very very expensive compressors after snapping my $200 set), in the end sent it to a shop to get them to do it, had to drop the control arms as well.

Saw it parked outside of Asquith vets last night, strange saw Mrs Wooders XJ there too after it got BFG's.. is this the place to park your modded Jeep??, anyway it looks very nice and very tall for a KJ.

Cheers

Brilliant Brad

I got one opf the last XJ Classics, cos I didn't like the look of the KJ and it didn't have a lift kit or snorkels or reasonably priced bull bar, etc.....

Eventhough driving it and from a cabin space point of view it had a better feel than the XJ (I have not driven a KJ off road but I have given my XJ a fair hammering).

Your pics are making me rethink..... maybe next time!!

Cheers

Roy
