Does anybody hoist their hard top off using Rhino Rack?
Designed a hoist system for my hard top roof, to easily remove it for summer, however my biggest issue is actually grabbing on to the roof... I feel like, even though the 6 points where the Backbone Rhino Rack mounts to the roof aren't exactly heavy duty or made for lifting, together they would provide a better way of lifting the top than say hooking anything around the fiberglass edges or running a strap width-ways that also puts the weight on the window edges, which I've notice some hoist systems do...
Thoughts or any other suggestions for ways to attach the hoist to the roof, by all means hit me up
For reference, i have two hoisting points one above the front part of the hard top and one centred above the back window

I mounted two lifting points like you did then used two ratchet straps to lift the hardtop.
When I want lower it into place the weight of the top allows it to lower slowly after releasing the straps one at a time.
Mine will sit like this for 4 - 6 months of the year as I prefer the soft top and usually only run the hard top in Winter.

Jamie, which state or territory do you live? It rains most places in winter if there is no drought.

I'm in Newcastle, NSW. The only reason I fit the hard top in Winter is because it's easier to heat up the inside than the soft top on cold days.
I've got a bestop NX glide soft top and it's a lot better at keeping the rain out than a standard top.
