Yep, tyre shops always try and go for the alignment as a bit of an upgrade, usually it's some sort of big monkey in there with no freaking idea of what he's doing. Las time I tried for an alignment was about 15 years ago with the MR2, I'd done it at home multiple times with string etc, always perfect, the tyre mob wouldn't warranty the tyres without their idiot dong an alignment, he kept trying to tell me the rear couldn;t be adjusted for camber and toe etc, freaking idiot, it was basically a Corolla front end in the rear and it had all the adjustments.

Yeah I got a habit now of removing my alloys at home , putting them in me ute and running them in to the tyre shop, no friggin way I would leave my cars there and come back in the arvo to pick it up, Ive seen and cannot believe where they lift vehicles up on the hoist, bad enough taking a car in for servicing ( to maintain warranty )

They then suggested i see jeep if they had and kit to help further adjustment.
I then thought id get a second opinion and went to the local Pedders suspenion store who had previously done some great work for ne re shockies.
When i told him about the issue, he laughed and said there is further adjustment already built in there and to bring the car in later the week and they will sort it out for me.
My question is, how can a national tire fitting chain store not be aware of how to wheel align these cars or do proper adjustments?
I'm yet to find a decent store I have faith in especially when you ask them ( the franchise managers change all the time) do you know how to put the JEEP into alignment & tyre change mode & they hesitate with a blank look

Tyre shops! Here's what I think of them and their quality of work....

They cost me money and almost ruined a holiday.

I would have ripped it up them big time for sure........... I have been thinking of spraying the lift points on mine a bright colour, I might do that just for the tyre shop..............
Once did a balance for a mate at work, lifted his car up then pointed out where the tyre shop had lifted his up they had crushed part of the boody, he was spewing ........... In the RAAF I had a tyre shop to play with, buy the tyres and fit, balance it all myself, heaven.

put the car into Pedders and low a behold they also said that the camber adjustment on the front passenger camber was max’d out also.
Evidently not out by much but they seem to think its not that abnormal from Jeeps and a few other brands to have this issue.
I got 50,000km out of the last set of tyres so i suppose its as good as it can get.
They did adjust the Toe a little but didnt charge me.
Bit of a shame they cant be adjusted spot on!
