wheel allignment
Just just put some new Pirrelli tires on my 2014 gc at the local tire power store.
Love the tires , however when picking the car up, the tech said he could not get the camber spot on the the front passenger wheel and had run out of adjustment.
They then suggested i see jeep if they had and kit to help further adjustment.
I then thought id get a second opinion and went to the local Pedders suspenion store who had previously done some great work for ne re shockies.
When i told him about the issue, he laughed and said there is further adjustment already built in there and to bring the car in later the week and they will sort it out for me.
My question is, how can a national tire fitting chain store not be aware of how to wheel align these cars or do proper adjustments?

Not just Jeeps its all about training, I now use a tyre shop for fitting and balance and get a steering shop for alignments, got sick to death of poor work.... some tyre shops are hopeless at even a decent balance, add too much weight instead of setting the tyre properly.......... done a few myself over the years.
Nothing gets me going than the old "Well they are Yank left hand drives" biggest load of BS ever.

im with you on that!!
Its just plain bad that a business which is supposed to specialise in a service
has know idea how to do the job properly!!

I had a place in Toowoomba which was brilliant, its a bit far to go now, its taken me awhile but I have found a reasonable place in Gympie that seems to do a good job....
Don't fall the tyre shop new tyres must have an alignment, if the old ones were wearing really well and it all rolled in a straight line don't let them touch it, and if it isn't great then use a steering shop, sounds rough but I have had a gutful of going back again to a tyre shop for a fix up, never had to with a steering shop....
Told by one place we can't straighten the wheel any more there's no more adjustment, its electric steering fellas, give me my keys.........

Yep, the outside edge on the front passenger tyre was wearing slightly more than the rest, thats the tyre that these tyre fitters reckon has run out of adjustment.
“take it up with Jeep” they say !!!
After i get it sorted at Pedders, im going to go back to Tyre Power and let them know they really should be on top of what needs doing on wheel allignments!!

Wouldn't waste my breath or effort telling them.... besides you never know when they have that special on that you want, fit the tyres, balance and thats it, thank you and dont rattle gun up the nuts....... I have had to replace 2 wheel nuts on this thing because of rattle guns.... If used properly they are great, I use one for spinning them off once I hand break it and use the gun to spin them on firm, use a torque wrench to tighten them up..........
The wheel nuts of course aren't off the shelf but can be ordered from an a mob here in Oz NICE Products wheel nut #NN615...... cheaper than ordering from a wheel shop ( any 14mm 1.5 thread will do in an emergency).... https://www.niceproducts.com.au/page...e-model-search

They said the same to the wife when she went in to have the bloody quick wearing/ noisy Bridgestone Duellers replaced on her 4 year old ASX.
Tyres were wearing beautiful, car would track true and not pull to the left or right, but they were adement it needed an alignment,  Thanks but its all good just fit and balance, thank you Hoo-Roo
