Incidentally what diff oil do you guys use in your D35, D30s
Oh dear, strawberry milkshake !!
You need to get it all out & give it a good long hot run after to dry out any condensation.

By the looks of it, it needs flushing. I believe it can be done at home with 20L of DX3. I reckon people disconnect one of the lines and pour fresh oil in while the engine is running and in park. Then use a drum to catch the flow. I have never needed to do it so might be worth a thread asking exactly how to do it. If the water was muddy then I would definitely try to flush it. Might be worth getting a tranny kit and dropping the tray and replace the filter after a 30min drive. That is after you flush it.

Regards A

Your right I should flush it, I've flushed autos before using a special machine designed to do so. I could remove a cooler hose and put it into a container, run the engine and try and fill the auto at the same rate. It could get messy.

I think it just dawned on me how the water got in....from the join in the dipstick tube, it probably needs a new o'ring. There is no water in the diffs/transfer and they all have breathers that run to.the same place.

Rear diff cover was starting to leak, not knowing when / if ever its last change was change did a oil change on the rear diff. I'm pretty sure I should be able to cut diff oil with a knife. It was so thick and black as sin (though I do enjoy allot of varieties of sin). Took it for a run and it was quieter from the back. I hadn't even realised that it was noisy but the absent of sound doesn't lie.

Now if I could just work out why my back brakes don't I'll be fairly happy with the 400 dollar special.

Castrol LS90 F&R unless I plan a long towing trip and then I run 90/140 non LS (in the rear) as my rear diff doesn't have clutches...
