Lots and lots and lots of measuring and checking. All good.

Giving it a few love taps with a rubber mallet and piece of pine timber, seems the brand spanking new starter motor I got before the Jeep went off the road (and into the local dealer for 8 weeks) has decided it wants to be problematic...

Made some custom bump stop extensions. The steel part is some heavy wall tube 40mm long, with a 5mm flat welded on the bottom. Then I hole sawed the orininal bumpstop a bit to fit it in, so it is about a 40mm extension.

Fitted my replacement coils and leaves to replace my stuffed originals!

Rear leaves were inverted when sitting flat..... Not any more! Guestimate about 2 - 3 inches of lift there now. Very happy.

Had to remove the rear sway bar (mines a limited), didn't really fit nicely with the new springs. Looks like I would need to extend them or something. Any reason I shouldn't just leave it off?

Also found a rattle that has been bugging me since I bought the thing! Once of the clamps on the rear leaf spring, was loose, and could rattle around. OMG. So much better now!

Mounted a Nexus 7 2013 in the XJ to replace the Xoom that has been in there for a few years. Decided to get a XJ specific mount that clips on to the dash, no drilling etc, very solid, much better than the windscreen mount and the Nexus is awesome Just need to tidy the wiring.

Cheers
Steve
