Default Council for heating radiator

I'm getting some drops of engine coolant on the mat inside of my diesel XJ. I believe that the heating radiator after 15 years is broken. I would like to buy one on the web in order to save money, but do not want to take something of a low quality. Give me some advice on which brand to choose? Or is it more reliable original parts? XJ vehicles with right-hand or left-hand drive have the same cooler?

Can't speak for the right vs left hand drive... However, I had to replace my ac condenser. The one listed on rock auto was about 4 times more expensive than the US version. I took some measurements and realized the US part was EXACTLY the same as the Euro version. Saved myself a ton of money... Since the cooling on the diesels is pretty suspect to begin with, I wouldn't hesitate taking care of this. You probably want to do a good coolant flush before changing everything out. You'll be glad you did.. Layback has a good write up about it. Can't speak to the correct quality on the part...

IIRC in the petrol xj's the pipes going into the heater are a mirror image between left and right hand drive.(pre-update)

I was looking at some pictures on the web, I saw that the original one by the color seems to be costrito copper for sale while some are made of aluminum and cost in some cases even less than half! And just my observation? They are better than copper or aluminum ones?

ok, you are gonna have to pull the whole dash out to do this. whole day. I'm all for saving a buck, but this is one part that where I would pay for the brand name. - you don't want to be pulling the dash out in 6 months.
the ausi suppliers will have heaters for our right hand drive, proper brand, etc. etc.
Good luck with it.
