Default Thanks so much

I have had my JK Wrangler for about three months and it only filled quickly a couple of times. After thinking it was the angle of the nozzle or the fuel station idecided to do a search and found this forum.

I am so happy I did because the refuelling thing is driving me bonkers. Thanks so much. I'll be off to the dealer next week!! One would think the manufacturer would take some initiative.

Thank you Festa for providing the details on the TSB.

The dealership at Redcliffe installed mine without batting an eyelid. I was surprised but very grateful after having (old) problems there and the horror stories that I have read from other CRD owners around the country. This has removed the only issue that I have had with my beloved truck.

Your very welcome glad to hear your having a vertually trouble free run.

My only other problem is my battery not liking the heat under the bonnet of the CRD.

Jeep have done everything they can (replaced the altenator and the battery 4 times due to swelling.)

I'm going to look into bonnet vents to see if I can't reduce the heat a bit.

The AEV bonnet likes a little too pricey for my taste and as it's a U.S. item I imagine it was engineered with air flow for the petrol engine in mind not the Diesel.

Thumbs up

Thanks for the TSB No Festa.

Just had mine done over here in Scotland, works a treat. Fills up at full flow and clicks without overfilling it. The dealer researched this problem earlier but said there was no fix but then I gave him the TSB number a day later and he seemed rather embarrassed. Owell its fixed now if only if would have been fixed earlier.

I had the TSB done about 2 months ago. It worked fine for 2-3 fills, but the problem returned the same as before. Very depressing.

I disconnected the breather tube at the tank, and it was full of diesel. It's easy to see how this can happen if you 'over fill' your tank, but also easy to see it can't operate as a breather tube when full of diesel.

I have re-routed the breather tube so that it slopes down towards the tank over its full length, and so far (one fill) it works perfectly.

It's pretty conclusive though as the 5 fills before it were a nightmare.

Had the fix done on mine and it was only a temporary fix... Takes 20 to 30 minutes ""again"" to fill.... Been back to the dealer and they cant find anything wrong or blocked vents etc... The "Fix" is scheduled to be redone at the next service...and at no stage have i been able to use the hi-flow pumps.... .. I actualy take jerry cans to the servo in my ute and use those to fill the jeep for local use... its quicker!!!!

Thanks Festa. I haven't sorted this problem as my wife drives the JK and has been using probably the last driveway service petrol station on the planet...at least in Albany. The attendant has it sussed but everywhere else it's a pain. I will get sorted in final months of warranty.
