Default engine rpm v speed

What engine rpm do you have to get 100Kph ?
I have approx 1750 with the overdrive on.
at 80Kph its 2000rpm , overdrive makes no difference.
economy on the highway is about 12 but at 80 (most of the roads around here) it jumps to 14

What KJ do you have? I assume 2.8 CRD auto. I have one, 2006 100km/hr it is at about 1750, at 110 its just over 2000. At 80km/hr it can be in several different gears so can be a range of rpm's.

Mine is a 2006 CRD KJ sport.
If I speed up to about 125 first I can cruise at 110 Kph at 1500 Rpm but as soon as I get down about 105 the revs jump to about 1750. Weird I don't understand it at all, seems the auto is not set up correctly for our roads or maybe its set up for off road and nothing else

Tyre size makes a difference, what tyres are fitted.

With OEM sized tyres on our Jeep (235/65R17) I get pretty close to what @layback40 gets.

I've never seen the taco as low as 1500 @ 110 kph tho unless I'm slowing down.

2006 CRD/Auto Limited BTW

mine has 235.70 16 tyres has been since new.
From a bit of research , according to the yanks you have to get to 65 mph to change to 5th and over 70 mph for it to lock up . best mpg was said to be 73mph. I also see that they can get the auto controller re-flashed to get different shift and lockup points
wish I could do that here, I am never going to see 70mph continuous .
sorry for the imperial measurements, taken from the yanks and I am to lazy to convert

I must try this some time. What you are seeing is the trans trying to have the engine running at its most economical RPM.

65mph = ~105kph
70mph = ~113kph
73mph = ~118kph

I always thought that the Tx was in top gear by 100kph and the TC was locking at about 102kph or so. I'm curious to check it out again now to see if the numbers you've given are reality for our Jeep.
