JeanLuke,

Cry a little perhaps. Doesn't look diabolical but far from ideal.

Hi all newbie here but not to 4bying.
My first Jeep I bought it last week and I must say that off road it feels very capable on some of our forest trails and medium sort of 4x4 stuff I can't wait until I have some others to try the more difficult tracks. I have had 2 Zuks, 2 Patrols and 2 Rodeos over the years and as so far am very happy with the way the car feels so sure footed. It has a 2 in lift I had to replace the front and rear shock bushes and front track rod bushes, it was wandering all over the shop when I drove it back to it's new home.
Anyway got home from work on Friday replaced said bushes at home with the tools I have and got out to give it a whirl on Saturday and then again this morning for about 3 odd hours while the missus was at work, all the knocks and bangs gone but more importantly it steers nicely and no more chasing the steering whilst on the tar or differing track cambers on the trails due to the track rod bushes being replaced. Happy chappy at the moment

Let us know how you go with this. Mine is sluggish off the mark, very much when cold. Smokes more than I'd like. And does some weird shifts slowing down (feels like it doesn't know where it wants to be sometimes). Looking forward to hearing how you get on.

Did this a few weeks ago. Fogs as brake lights as well. More brake lights the better to be seen. Can still use fogs as fogs too. Diodes stop current back up the wrong way.

I fitted new bushes to the front track bar and rear shocks upper and lower, they were well worn the car was wondering around quite a bit, with the track bushes having a lot of play in them and the shock bushes had worn right through and making a real racket in the arse end. It handles heaps better now and much quieter.

Swapped front seat cushions with each other. They are different, but fit nevertheless. Now practically new passenger seat foam lives under the driver. About 5 cm higher than before, but very soft and supportive.
3 hour of work. Not hard, but a bit fiddly and time consuming with the seat rings and rodes.
