Didn't find the LS too difficult, lot of info out there to do it, but trying to find the correct LS wiring diagram is the hardest, think we went through 7 before we got one. Basically cut up a pair of new LHD adaptor mounts and remade them to fit. bit of bashing on the tunnel, shaping of the firewall right at the bottom. Also have to use 05-06 TJ pump assembly as it has a higher fuel pressure.

LS1, 4L60E, stock dash using Novak adaptor, NP232 transfer.

Yeah but what did that cost and how many hours did you put into it?

The adaptor's alone put you in the $7-8kUSD range, then you either put up with an old stock LS motor and gearbox that won't deliver much more than the jeep came out with or you are up another $5K to freshen things up, then you have the cost and trouble of getting it mod platted (I understand this is not that hard in some of the other states) etc etc.... A decent stroker means you just drop it in and drive .

Time was definitely the thing, we done everything here on weekends, but adapters definitely did not cost that much. Only rear adapter needed was output from the box, the box was going in to be rebuilt anyway so he did it all in 1 go. Not sure which adapters you have been looking at? I can find out exactly what he used.

LS to gearbox, LS to jeep PCM, LS ECM, wiring harness (get that you made yours), engine install kit (get that you made your engine mounts etc) Cooling system... adds up very quickly

Trust me I was super keen on LS conversion but that meant a lot of additional hassles, and money I could not spend else where, for not a lot of extra gain over the stroker. In fact if you don't spend some money rebuilding the LS the storker is going to output way more power and have that power in a way more friendly rev range.
