Recovery hooks or eyes for front
Hey. I'm setting up for sand driving, camping and want to at least have of put some decent effort into being sorted before going out. New A/T tyres, serviced, awning, recovery tracks and recovery kit etc etc.
Recovery wise I can use the tow bar insert that you see all over the place however the standard front tow hook does not look up to scratch for snatch strapping.
I have googled the heck out of this and can't locate a decent hook or eye for the front using the standard bumper setup and just bolt something to where the existing factory tow hook is with 8.8 or 10.9 bolts.
Am I asking too much of the standard mounting nuts and strength? Do I really need to bolt something else on (standard bumper remember) and have reinforced brackets etc?
Cheers all.

You could buy these?
https://athfab.com/product/shackle-mounts-for-08-12-jeep-liberty-kk/
The KK/KJ are designed to allow towing behind motor homes so I'd say the existing front chassis mounts should be plenty solid.

Hi KKnut
I somehow knew you'd be first in
Yes, that is the only link and video I have been able to find thus far. Might make a OK Sunday project. I was looking after a cheaper option like a hook.
Maybe it is not possible/feasible for the front with standard bumpers.
I may well have to go this way to do ut right, which is my preferance.
Edit: was also looking for a Aussie supplier if possible.

Recovery hooks or eyes for front
Lol, I miss driving my KK so I'm getting my Jeep fix vicariously via the forum [emoji16]
I'd have a go at making them, in any case you are probably going to need to cut the trim around the lower air intake or worse and have to unclip the bumper.
You'll want to get some beefy angle though, might have to pay someone to oxy cut to shape and then tidy up with grinder. Once you paint it or get it gal dipped you may have been better off buying the ATH mounts? Load up pics if you do it.

Nice! I do like the look of it. Clean, solid and looks right.
Where did you get your hook kit from? In Aus?
Cheers
