Aev Savegre wheels
Ok,
So I don't know much about wheels, so...
Does anyone here have them (AEV savegre's)?
Where's the best/cheapest place to buy them in AUS?
What measurements do they come in?
What do the measurements mean?
And what measurement should I get?
Are they perfectly legal on stock jk's here in AUS?
My tyres are currently 245/70r17 and I will prob only go to 265/70r17 in the future. No need for me to go larger. I just don't really like the stock rims.
Your feedback would be awesome!
And thanks in advance.
Cheers,
Loggio.

Most wheels sold from the US 'to suit' the JK are not strictly speaking legal for us, as most increase the track by more than the 25mm each side we are allowed. The AEV wheels in question are only available as an 8.5in wide, +10mm offset. Compared to the stock +45mm offset (offset is how far the centre line of the rim is away from the face where it bolts to the axle) this rim pushes the centre line of the wheel 10mm further out than we are allowed.
To give you an idea of what the measurements all mean, here is a picture of the stock wheels:

Aev Savegre wheels
I have the Savegre wheels and I don't believe 265's are safe to run on them. I'm running 305's. I could be wrong but seem to remember baving the conversation with the tyre fitters.
Jeep connection and stu are the Aussie AEV dealers as far as I know also.

Mickey Thompson list the MTZ 265's as approved to run on 7in to 9in rims, so that shouldn't be an issue, though personally I think the tyres would funny on a rim that wide! The tyre would not balloon much and rim damage offroad would be likely.

Aev Savegre wheels
Mmm maybe it was the procomp tyres that I have, may have had a different range, can't quite recall but certainly agree with the looking not quite right seacomm!! Mine balloon out just enough to protect the rims.
If I were to do it again I'd go 285's. good all round size, depending on yr setup and gearing.

hmm ok then
this is all great feedback guys! I actually never really took into acount the witdh of the rim, it's a full inch wider than the stock rims.
Is there any rims out there that look and act similar to the AEV savegre's that won't look funny running 245/70's or 265/70's?
Edit**
Actually, AEV says the wheels are 17x8.5"
Are they talking about the "overall wheel width" or the "rim width" in regards to seacomms picture above...
Because the overall wheel width of the stock JK rim is 8.5 with a 7.5 RIM width.... AEV just says 8.5, a bit confusing.
Thanks guys,
Loggio.

When you say its a 7.5 or 8.5 in rim etc, its the section where the tyre sits, not the overall rim width. Above where it shows that the actual wheel width is an inch wider is a generalisation and pretty close in most cases.
