Default Coolant bottle
Question about the 3.7l petrol coolant bottle. Is there supposed to be a vent hole? I thought the system relied on pressure which would mean a vent would not pressurise the bottle. The right side of the tank has been completely filling when hot the reservoir is empty and there appears to be no pressure in the top rad hose. I have pulled the coolant tank coz I noticed coolant dripping and figured there was a leak. See picture attached the nipple circled in red is not blocked.

Pulled mine out for the same reason,

What l worked out is that that section works as a recovery tank for the vent tube that comes of the radiator cap, so it doesn't flow straight out.

Didnt like the Dayco that was installed, same as your one, hoses run at different angles to the original so end up getting OEM
