the above advice by jony jeep is very well written imo

I agree with it, and would proceed as by snipping both earth wires,
and try splice both relay earths into each ECu ground wire alternately, and see if that works

If it doesnt, solder & heatshrink them back together, no harm done

I also think it is safer to check for earths on PC using a multimeter, not a test light probe

thanks guys my auto electrical experience is limited how would I test for the pulse using a multi meter I know how to test for continuity and volts
the only earth wire I know of is the pin 3 on the grey plug which pulses the asd I stick a pin into the blue /yellow wire set the multi meter to ohms? red or black probe? basically how do I do it
as I an thinking about throwing a pcm at it and seeing what happens it might be worth the $130 or so to find out ?

Some multimeters have a bar graph display that is very useful to see pulses so it really depends on the meter...

You are looking for a ground so use ohms and check between the wire and ground, which will should show a change from open circuit (high reistance) to short circuit (very low resistance) when the wire is grounded.

The other way you can test for ground is similar to using a test bulb. Use DC volts and connect MM to 12V and probe wire/socket with the other lead. When you get a ground 12V will show on the meter.

Another thought. If not already done you could pull the relays and the connector from the PCM you can check continuity on both wires. You should show a good connection on both wires and they should test as open circuit if you put one probe to a good ground. If testing either wire you get open circuit there is a break or bad connection at the terminal crimp within the PDC.

ok I believe that pin 3 is the asd and pin 19 is the fuel pump relay control I will test its continuity I got 0.37 on pin 3
once I do the test I might put it back together get the missus to crank it while I wriggle wires to see what happens can only flatten the battery

pin 19 to fuel pump relay 86 was 0.25 resistance bugger it seems fine ...............
I will I will I dunno I will do something ?

Edit 1 Beer Later ..... I was just reading stuff about jeeps not starting most of the time it is the crank sensor now I said I tested mine and I am going to retest it again........My Question when I tested the crank sensor I think I got 5 volts on 2 wires middle wire neutral should I get 5 volts going out on the signal wire?..maybe the crank is iffy? I ask this because the plug on the crank sensor is stuffed and when I got the head done the mechanics couldn't get it started they had the crank plugged in reverse would that damage the sensor?

I don't know if connecting the crank sensor backwards would affect it at all but the normal way to test it, from the FSM, is measuring resistance between the B and C terminals which on a 10K scale should show as open circuit. Low resistance means the sensor should be replaced.

Just found this thread on Jeepforum which is fairly new but might be worth keeping an eye on the description in post #11 seems similar to yours issues. Does your fuel pump relay cycle normally at all if the ignition is turned off/on multiple times?...
