Default DIY Draw System

Aluminium connect-it from Bunnings is very easy to use

Marine ply and sheet metal, 227kg rated bearing sliders should keep a lot of stuff in this draw!

Marine carpet to finish, very happy with the outcome. 2 days to complete

I have seen that stuff used before and liked the idea. It is one of the ideas I plan on getting around to one day, Why do our jeeps always find more ways to make us want to spend money on them.

Nice job. Plenty of usable room and misses the factory sub.
I was wondering how that'd look.
My only issue is I still occasionally want the rear seat.

Loses a lot of functional space on the sides. Personally prefer a simple shelf. A lot easier to fab and you don't lose any space.

Extra points if you find the ninja.

I have to admit while I like the idea of a drawer system, in terms of overall practicality (at least for me) I still keep coming back to just a simple shelf. Mine has served me well. It makes packing the back so much easier when going camping but it still useful even when at home. It still allows me to get reasonably big things in when not camping, doesn't add any significant weight and doesn't cost the earth. Each to their own I suppose.

If the JK was a dedicated holiday/play truck then it might be a different story, and the OP's system looks great, though I'd also try to make better use of the bits around the sides. I know when my JK is packed up there's not a spare bit of space to be found so I'd need to use every available bit of space around the drawers for something.

I have plastic tubs in a big plywood box. Light, cheap and simple. Best thing is when you get home from camping I take out 4 tubs, swag and esky/fridge on top and car is pretty much empty. No doubt drawers are convenient but they can be very heavy.

I like this aluminium set up. Light and reasonably priced. I would get sick of emptying it on Sunday night when I have work the next morning.

Always difficult to use all space. Always seems to be a trade off between total space available and space available easily and quickly.
