Default Anyone bed-linered their Jeep?

As the title says, I'm just wondering if anyone on here has done this yet?

I've got a black, kitted JKU that's covered in scratches so bad, it looks like Stevie Wonder washed it with a chisel.

I've seen the raptor kits etc and they look pretty good. My thought was that I could use this isolation time and fight the boredom to prep and paint the Jeep in bedliner?

Pick up a small compressor etc for the job, get it done myself in my garage as many people seem to be doing online.

Just looking for any insight really, any tips and tricks, do's and don'ts etc

Cheers

Would be interesting to see how she turns out. I reckon I've seen a few on the American YouTube vids with Bed liner, looks good and tough as nails

Did the inside of the tub on a TJ I had many years ago, I wouldn't be adverse to doing the outside, provided I could get good coverage, prob use it with a tint though, like sand colour or something like that.

I used it when I stripped & repainted the hinges & on the PS hood vent, but that's all, (so far). I used the rattle can Duplicolor Bed Liner for it.

(Just washed it for the first time in months, after putting the doors back on. )

That looks good mate, great finish. Do you rate the bonnet vent? Is it actually useful?

Those guys are expensive Jamie. Really good but more than I'm willing to spend. I'm not a tight-ass by any means, but with the amount of videos I've seen of people doing this themselves, I'm sure I can get this done.

I spent the first part of my automotive career at a bodyshop doing the prep for the painters, so I'm not going in to this blind. And with the bedliner not needing to be a perfect finish, it's fine for a home job.

My thoughts were to do the front and rear bumpers, flares and roof with the pressure through the gun low, so it's thick and course. Then the rest of the body with the pressure high, so it's a finer, smoother finish.

I've already priced up the compressor etc and even if it takes 3 of the kits, the whole thing can be done for about $1'000 and some time to prep.
