Default Air damn removal

I read somewhere (not on here) some instructions about removing the lower front air dam, as a precaution against damage, when going off the beaten track.

The process seemed fairly easy/straightforward, undo a bunch of screws/bolts and it looked as though it almost fell off, but I can't seem to find "the instructions" again.

It is as simple as I seem to recall, and is it advisable/worthwhile ? It's just that I'm going bush in a couple of weeks, for the first time in the WK, nothing difficult, but I'm just wondering whether I should consider it - I had a bull bar and bash plates on my old Patrol so really didn't care that much.

Thanks

I haven't had to remove mine for offroading yet, if you are going up steep approaches then you might want to do it.

Here are the instructions on Bill's site:

Yes do It, it doesn't take much.. about 1 minute & it will save you kicking yourself when you crunch it. I too came from a Patrol & the way you div e Jeeps Off Road is completely different... Follow Bill's info & have a go... it is easy.

I have removed mine a few times and it takes all of 1 minute. One point of note is that if you ae going to do much highway driving with it off, you need to do something about tying the inner wheel arch liner forward as the wind will blow it back onto your tyre and wear a hole in it.

Thanks guys - I'll have look into it - been to this place before, so not expecting steep approaches and departures, just rough tracks, but it does have very deep sand in places. It's also the first time back to the property since I had my Patrol, so it'll be a kind of Patrol/BFG vs. Jeep/Nitto comparison test for me as well.

Cheers

It's in the owners manual.
I read it, but have not needed to do it yet.
