The advantage you have over the destroy my jeep guy is yours is after the changes made beginning 2011. Prior sales to that hardly have a leg to stand on.

I would be keeping a record of every communication with Jeep and anybody else. I would also communicate only in writing. Email or registered post.

If you approach this situation correctly you should be pretty confident that Jeep will have to pay to fix it.

Do not except unreasonable waiting times. I would also be requesting a loan vehicle or compensation while it is off the road.

It is a a major fault so I guess if you really wanted to you could push for a new vehicle. A complete brand new engine at the very least.

If you get no assistance from Jeep etc, I'd be looking at a low K 2nd hand engine from a wreck.....rather than a costly rebuild.

You have a firm ground in your claim. Yours not even passed the 100k mark, a major fault like this is not usual. You will need to make sure Ultratune was doing a proper service thou. If the fault was caused by improper service by Ultratune, ie: wrong engine oil used or forgot to change oil (not uncommon).. FCA / dealer can get away with your claim easily.
As bjm suggest, be sure to take sample of engine oil and ask Ultratune what was used.

Good luck!

They put in Castrol Edge this afternoon. I understand that is the FCA approved oil.

I have been using my local ultra tune for years with a variety of cars, and have never had a problem. I am confident that they've been doing a good job.
