Default Removing JK rear seats. Any issues?

Hello there, I've just taken out the rear seats on my JK to free up some space.

Is there any issue with this from a legal perspective? like compliance or something along those lines?

Can't imagine why.. they clip in and out so easily.

Cheers

I have had the JKU rear seats out since about '08 (bought it in 07). No issues except that you cannot remove the seat belts as this is illegal - seats only. Make sure that any drawer system installed is adequately anchored... u can use the seat bolts for this. I also removed the subwoofer at the same time and it has sat on a shelf in the garage since. Sound system is adequate without it.

Hope this helps

It would be my take that since they are a removable seat, there should be no problem removing them....just don't carry anyone in the back, lol.

I had a mate get defected for not having rear seats in a land cruiser. Pretty ridiculous really. Kinda makes you lose a lot of respect for police officers.

My take on the rules is that you can remove the seats but the seatbelts aren't to be touched. They need to be left in as the rego papers state that it's a 5 seater.

Having said that. I haven't run a rear seat or seatbelts in my TJ for a few years have haven't had an isssue yet.
