I figured that maybe it was the same with a spare. Mainly because rear mounted tyres always seem to have covers and they obviously get more sun than the others.

mate they have cover on because it another way to dress up a vehicle and make it look pretty, another bit of after market stuff for car shops to sell and most of all another way for dealers to advertise their car yards, along with those bloody stickers they put on the back, side and front of your vehicle, and those plastic number plate surrounds they put on your car. all advertising. go on mate be a devil, be risque', be free and naked for the world to see .....take off the cover and run naked in the outdoors as nature intended.
