Actually when I went to buy a wrangler I was suprised it wasn't available, I just took it for granted that you could have a choice of petrol or diesel engine in the highest spec model.

I don't accept the argument that they would be too expensive to sell. Why can't you just order a Diesel Rubicon and they build you one in the factory? Then there is no risk to the dealers or Chrysler when they have a confirmed order, I'm not suggesting that they just build random cars and ship them to Aust with the hope of selling them (although I'm pretty sure they would sell).

Up til recently you could order any combination of long wheelbase, colour and transmission why not a choice of engine?

SO THE ANSWER IS YES!

Not now that i have a 2010 diesel wrangler. i'll just build the one i got with better quality parts than the factory build the production model.

Jeep already has diesel rubicon.. They just don't sell them here.

No, they'd ask too much money for them and for the money you'd pay you would 100% be better off doing this:
