I have a Ruby. I'd love it to be a diesel but i dont think i would want to spend that sort of money when i could get a diesel sport and put the mods on it I want want with immediate delivery. Some dealers in Perth dont even stock the Rubicon so an order is a must with the Jeep 3 month waiting period.

It doesn't matter what it cost, if the customer is prepared to pay why say no? There is no technical reason why it can't be done, a diesel rubicon is available in some european countries.
Just take the customers deposit and build one in the factory just for that customer. It's pretty simple really. In the unlikely event that the customer pulls out of the deal, do you really think Chysler couldn't sell it? Really?
