Not sure of the program Multihull, it's a NoLimit chip from Germany. It has not given me any grief though. Now on the up side, disconnected battery terminals, wait 5 minutes, reconnect, & it started. That probably solved. Now back to the original problem. Mechanic found same fault as before with others supporting turbo actuator. He tested it & found it was faulty. I know there are a few thread about replacement actuators, but working out west with no internet, it's hard to get time to spent on research, an help would be appreciated.

Just spoke to Adam from Turbo Developments in the UK. Top bloke & very helpfull. He gave me a few simple tests & tricks before i go any further.
The actuator arm should move as soon as the engine is reved, even if it in park. If it doesn't, remove the linkage between the actuator & turbo. Move the linkage to the turbo up & down& it should feel smooth, if you can't move the linkage, the turbo is cactus. If you can but it a little notchey, get a piece of wire & tie the linkage in the up positions & take the car for a hard drive, this hold the veins in the most open positions & allows any carbon buildup to escape out exhaust. Sometimes this works he said. If the linkage is smooth, you have Options. You can purchase an exchange unit from them for £150 + postage. When you receive the new one, return your old one to them. Or you can send you unit to them for repair. Either way, allot cheaper than any Aussi alternative.

G'day Gleeson. How did you go resolving your issue?

I am searching desperately for information on here for how in hell to track down what is wrong with my Commander at the moment (refer to my failed swirl motor mod thread on here and in the WH forum) and I think you have been through the most out of anyone when it comes to Commander fault finding. You poor bugger....

I may need to pick your brain on some of the testing procedures for various components you mention in your "saga" thread.

Cheers,
Hanna.

Thumbs up

Just got my XH back from the mechanic. I had the the 2015 code come up along with the lightning bolt and engine light together. I also run the NoLimit tuning box which Ive had no issues with.

Turns out it was the small seal on the vacuum hose that was leaking oil directly onto the swirl motor which caused major failure. Had all of this replaced along with new air intake, vacumm hose, seals, clips etc..., turbo cleaned and a new #5 injector. She goes hard again now.

Apparently this is an issue with the 07/08 models only. Jeep realised this and fixed the issue on the models after that solving the problem. However they never decided to do a recall on those vehicles, so if youre like myself you just have to wait until it goes and then faulk out a couple of grand to have it fixed. Thankfully my mechanics were into it and arranged parts from OS. this took a little longer but saved my wallet an extra couple of grand.

Cheers and good luck.
