Exclamation ABS lights coming on

I have just replaced the front struts in my WH Grand Cherokee and after driving approximately 170ks after installing the struts and towing my caravan the ABS lights came on. The next day no problem. Since then the problem is intermittent. Sometimes the lights come on when I start the Jeep and then go off after a few minutes. I took the Jeep to a mechanic ( not a specialist Jeep one ) and he put a scanner on it and the result he said was a right rear wheel sensor. It seems strange that this should happen ( the ABS lights coming on ) as soon as the front struts were replaced.
Has anyone else had a similar problem?
Thanks in advance.
Regards Chris

The WH and XH forum, not the WK2 one Chris - based on the fact you said it was a WH that you were having problems with...

WH and XH were merged with WH being split out of the WK forum a couple of weeks back.

Wheel speed sensors are common failures on the WH, if he has read the correct codes that will be the one causing issues.

They just fail. I carry spares every time I wheel lol

Welcome to the combined WH/XH forum Chris! And thanks for sending him here Bomber

Probably just a coincidence. Unless there's a chance he (or his scanner.) misread the code and it's actually a front sensor.

Thanks for the replies.
I wasn't aware of the forum changes but I am now and thanks for the heads up in that regard.
I am going to investigate the right rear wheel sensor as that is the one that came up in the scan. Not sure what I can do but will remove the sensor and see what I find if anything.
If the sensor needs replacing I have found some on the Web at Amazon.com at a reasonable price.
Regards Chris

Honestly there is nothing you can do with the sensor unless its been unplugged and you reconnect it. They are a sealed unit.

If you get them through Rockauto and get the wells/airtek brand they are the same as the factory ones and here in 6 days.
