With the drop in the US dollar, you really need to be after something not available here, or being sure you've checked out all the local options.

The items are supposed to be US "made", not US "supplied product from another country", they could apply a Duty payment if they figure this out.

They also specify in the regulations that they have the right to inspect multiple shipments from the same location overseas to the same address in Aus spanned over several weeks and if they deem this was done to avoid paying gst (or duty if applicable) that they are able to back charge the taxes and enforce a fine for avoidance.

Yep, above is true.....if they match up the shipments, they will chase you for GST/Duty.

You're right Breyten, as an example a BF Goodrich T/A KO LT 265 70 R16 from the US is average US$260....current exchange rate = AU$342.21 same tyre in Aus is around $429 only an $87 difference most of which would probably go in freight to here, so wouldn't really be worth it until the exchange rate climbs up to high 90's
