Try Discount Tire in the US. They have a presence on a number of Jeep websites and they have sent tyres to Australia before.

I purchased a set of 245/70/17 Yokohama Geolander AT/S for my 2003 WG V8 Grand two years ago through Tirerack.com

Great people to deal with and an easy transaction. Paid of the Thursday and was driving off with new tyres fitted on the Tuesday.

Total including fitting and balancing was around $250aud per tyre landed.

Yes freight is a killer, but sometimes even with the high cost of freight it still works out cheaper, and I mean a lot cheaper. I've never ordered tyres before, so I'm interested in other peoples experiences.

Depends on how you freight it. From memory getting them sent by USAtoAUS was ~$35 each, but you have to pick up from their port storage.

The killer at the moment is the exchange rate. I worked out yesterday that 1 USD = 1.29543 AUD just now +10% GST => You pay 1.424973 to the US dollar.
