Default 4WD indicator light

i noticed today while out wheelin that my 4wd dash light is slow to react, takes about 3-5 seconds to come on or go off, this has not always been the case though, 4wd does engage straight away though. any thoughts.

When in 4WD Hi or Lo, the indicator light displays quickly.
It could be some sensor playing up when engaging 4WD.

Maybe the light only comes on when the cars computer has received the correct signals etc.

I would take it to the stealership.
