Thanks for your reply Clarky. Would the fault with thr turbo actuator also trigger the ETC light to come on?
I am currently up near Murgon out of Brisbane and need to get my 3t van back home. A very slow trip through the ranges with no turbo.
Cheers
Dave

Yes it will cause ETC light.
Try manually moving the actuator by hand a few times, hopefully this may get it working enough to get you home.

Hi Clarky, Dave again, could that error code also refer to a blown turbo? There is a strange vibrating noise just before the etc light starts to flash. The noise seems to disappear after the etc is triggered.
Cheers and thanks
Dave

A couple of links to info on PO299 code - looks like either a leak/split in the turbo hoses or the turbo VGT-actuator….
https://conflictedracer.wordpress.co...erokee-diesel/

https://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f67/...-code-1358214/

When mine failed a couple of months ago I got the following codes (but not PO299).
Powertrain Control Module Trouble Codes:
• P0403: ACTIVE - EGR "A" Control Circuit/Open
• P0046: STORED - Turbocharger/Supercharger Boost Control "A" Circuit Range/Performance
• P0234: STORED - Turbocharger/Supercharger "A" Overboost Condition

I had mine replaced with a secondhand low km VGT-actuator in Brisbane.

A few weeks ago someone posted about repairing the VGT-actuators in Melbourne…
http://www.ausjeepoffroad.com/forum/...d.php?t=153734

I spent 6 weeks driving around Brisbane with no power and whenever I forgot and stomped the right foot -> limp mode... I feel your pain

P0299 - is Turbo/Super Charger Under-boost so its not able to reach the pre-set requirements so it goes into limp mode restricting RPM and boost generation.
I would pull the airbox to turbo intake pipe off and look for damaged fins on the turbo rotor, there will be some wear on the fins normally but it should be obvious if there is serious damage. Even at 2000rpm the turbo is spinning its heart.
