Default ECB bullbar

Gday all
Got an ecb bullbar 2nd hand & at a good price for my 2012 wk2 last week. Was originally going to get an ironman but they aren't made for this model & at least the ecb has recovery points in it.
For those that have fitted their ecb bar, is it bolted to the car by 4 10mm bolts. Doesn't seem enough.
With the lights in the bar, did you keep the original blinkers & parkers (drl's) working with the bars lights or did you just use the lights in the bar?
If anyone has a copy of the installation instructions, could i get a copy? Still got to put the under bar plates on & wire the lights but am happy with it so far.
Thanks
Silverfox

I installed one on my 2012 about 18 months ago and from memory there are the 4 bolts your talking about (2 of which are a pain to get started) and 2 larger ones that bolt on to where the screw in tow point is removed from and,2 on the other side. (Can't remember exactly where) I just downloaded the instructions from the ecb Web site. As for the indicators I got a mobile auto lecky around because they looked like such a pain to get at and also had him wire up some spotties at the same time. He just left the originals fully Intact.

Hi Silverfox,

Ours is a 2015, but you keep the lights and DRLs working with the car and in the bar. So you have two sets of DRLS (headlights and in the bar and the same with the blinkers.

Sorry can't help re the bolts - ECb instralled ours up in Brisbane.

Cheers,
Sally

Gday Spoondog
Where did you download the instructions from? I can only find an instruction sheet for a grand cherokee with a screw in tow hook (bj73sy). The bar i bought is for my 11-13 with 2 tow hooks. It bolts up okay, just looks like it should have something to support it vertically to take the weight of the mounting bolts.
The photo I've attached is the passenger mount from underneath. There is no vertical part to this bracket. Is this what yours looks like?

Hi Silverfox, mine was one with the screw in tow point and from memory the brackets looked a bit different to that. They had another piece of steel going up at 90° that bolted horizontally into the front of the car behind the bumper. I had to hold that Styrofoam back without breaking it and get the bolts in there, they were the two that were a pita.
Mine was rock solid once it was mounted but I agree with you that if the 4 10mm bolts are all that hold it it doesn't seem like much and unfortunately I traded my wk2 on a wrangler about 6 months ago so can't even get any photos for you.

Default ECB bullbar

Hi guys, rather than start a new thread I'll try this first.

I also picked up a second hand ECB bullbar and just spent the last 2 days installing it and wiring it up. PITA but good to learn your Jeep.

Background:
My issue is I connected the lower lights on the bullbar works fine.
Connected the out lights (built into the led indicator) to the day lights, works fine.

Connected the indicator LEDs in the bullbar to the stock wiring in the indicators. Here is my problem. I blew both original indicator bulbs after a few successful blinks and my indicators in the bullbar obviously blink fast now as LEDs don't draw much juice so the Canbus thinks the bulb is blown.

Question:
How do I get the stock indicators to work with the led one on the bullbar? I thought if I just connected them up they would work as LEDs don't take much power????

Thanks fellow Jeepers!

Ps: if anyone needs help with wiring etc I spent hours sussing it out so can post up a picture. I did it all myself for the first timeM
