This is not specific to Jeep or WK, but my approach with any pre-loved car with a few miles up:
1. Check if a detailed service history is available, then you get an idea of what's either been done - or not...
2. If SH unavailable, then get all the fluids, filters & plugs changed. Do a visual on belt and hoses, change if in the slightest doubt.
At least this way you establish your new 'base' position for future maintenance.
Personally I don't like skimping on any part of servicing, in fact I often view some of the fluid change intervals prescribed by factory as too optimistic (not only for Jeep!), I'd sooner change more frequently rather than try to save a few bucks especially if you're going to work it hard (e.g. towing, or rock climbing, or climate extremes etc.).
