Default My new TJ

Hi everyone,

Here is a photo of the TJ we now own!

As some might of heard, I bought this for my wife and surprised her on Christmas day. She didn't believe me at first, she thought i hired it (which is what I did when I proposed to her so she could drive one for the day thanks for Cornelius). But thankfully, she loves this truck more than anything and is so happy. Happy wife, Happy life!

We went camping out to Kenilworth which is west of the Sunshine Coast and did some 4wd'ing and I have to say it handled so well! So much fun to drive. But i must say, these cars are terrible on fuel.

I got some photos here of just after we arrived back from our camping trip to after giving it a thorough detail.

I am still yet to do a full paint correction and ceramic coating on the paint which i can't wait to show you all!

Flares and spare tyre look good (and so does the rest of it!) But what happened to the rest of the tyres!

Haha, Yes the spare looks nice and when I purchased it he gave me the other 4 but they don't have much tread on them. Plus they'll be too noisy, expensive and will reduce fuel economy more! But yes, the muddy's would look so good on the Jeep...but I also don't like the idea of my wife driving it with muddy's in the rain.

Looks great, but yeah looks like it is missing its big boots. Yep, they are dismal on fuel, keep the revs low ( mine is better around town than on the highway ) and spray some throttle body cleaner into the TB's. You can reset the ECU memory ( it's on here somewhere ), that and the TB clean should give you some better economy. I drive mine sedately and hit 14-15 litres per 100km. My diesel Xtrail with a lift kit I had used to return 6 per 100, sometimes as low as 5.

14l per 100 is about right & as good as you will get. I actually got better economy with 35's & 4.56 gears than the standard tyres & 3.07's. A quality mud tyre performs beautifully in the rain by the way.
